This traditional Tuscan home is located in the graceful hills between Pisa and Florence, near the historic village of Palaia. Featuring wood beamed and brick ceilings and terracotta floors, the property and grounds were recently restored with care.Outdoors, guests may wander the gated, enclosed grounds among the woodlands, olive groves, and fruit trees.  The 7.5 acre property is surrounded by the working farms of the traditional Tuscan countryside. Outdoor patios surround both the main house and the guesthouse, and provide graceful views of the surrounding fields.  A large infinity edged pool is surrounded by ample seating areas, and there are two al fresco dining areas, a pizza oven and a barbecue to complement outdoor living.The entryway to the main house hosts a cozy sitting area.  Original brickwork arches above the living room.  The living room also features a wall bench which was once part of an ancient animal trough.  A fully equipped kitchen with double ovens also provides some fun touches for children such as a Disney themed grilled cheese maker and character mugs. The dining room features a long table seating twelve. A game room on the ground level assures indoor fun with a flat screen TV, PS 3, games and books. Also located on the ground floor are a convenient powder room and the laundry facilities.The upper floor of the main house holds another living area with a fireplace, flat screen TV and DVD player,  and has a convenient ground level entrance.  The four bedroom suites in the main house are located on this upper level.  All bedrooms boast en-suite bathrooms and closets.  The master bedroom's en-suite bathroom features a jacuzzi tub as well as a shower. A staircase leads from the tower bedroom to a loft office with a sofa bed, desktop computer and flat screen TV.  All rooms are air conditioned, or heated, as needed.The two level guest house hosts a living area, fully equipped kitchen, and two bedrooms on the upper level.  Both bedrooms feature en-suite bathrooms with showers.  There is also ground level access to the upper level of the guesthouse.  The guesthouse may be rented separately during the low season, and is otherwise available with full house rental.Situated just outside of 10th century Palaia, Casa Francia is also within easy reach of other medieval villages; within 30 minutes of Pisa and within an hour of Florence, Lucca and the coastal beaches. Casa Francia hosts up to twelve guests and is ideal spot for family gatherings, or for groups of friends, in authentic Tuscan surroundings.
