The building is set in the exclusive Jewish quarter, right in the center of Rome. The high windows look out over Piazza Mattei and the famous Turtle Fountain. A superb marble staircase with Baroque busts leads guests up to the piano nobile of this historical stately home. The Apartment sleeps up to 14 guests in sumptuous rooms on the first and mezzanine floors.

There are five enormous double bedrooms, three of which have en suite bathrooms. Two of the rooms have a private sauna, one has a 17th-century ceiling fresco by Nicolas Poussin and two of the rooms have Netflix. All of the rooms in the apartment have air conditioning, a sheer delight in the balmy days of Roman summer.

The ceiling of the open plan living/dining area houses frescoes by the aforementioned Zuccari brothers and there is a corner bar for refreshing aperitifs as you await your dinner. Why not enjoy a quick game of billiards in the adjoining billiard room with its professional-sized table, stunning vaulted ceiling and 17th-century frescoes by Cavalier d’Arpino. The kitchen offers all the modern necessities to render your stay and dining experiences at Fontana delle Tartarughe as idyllic as possible.
