Casa Elar

The Italian inspired villa hosts more than 10000 sq feet of interior living space. Casa Elar was designed in 2005 by Santa Barbara architect, William Mahan. Guests enter through the two story grand foyer that faces the graceful staircase leading to the second level. Casa Elar also offers the option of an elevator for second level access.

The grand foyer opens to open plan living areas and the ground floor bedroom suites. The spacious great room leads to the formal dining area at one end and to the family room and library at the other. This ample area features wooden beamed ceilings, a large fireplace and floor to ceiling windows with views of the surrounding mountains. The family room hosts the entertainment center, built-in bar, fireplace, and the library/office. The large windows overlook the pool area and the walk-out terrace overlooks the fairway.

The formal dining area seats 12. The fully equipped chef's kitchen with adjacent pantry and informal dining area open off of the formal dining area. The informal dining room is enclosed by a bay window and is both bright and charming.

A spacious, shaded, outdoor dining pergola opens off of the informal dining area and kitchen. The expansive pool terrace also offers a shaded eating area. Outdoor cooking facilities include a stone pizza oven and chef's gas barbecue. The large pool is surrounded by an extensive terrace and manicured lawns, featuring both covered and open air lounging areas and a private spa, all with inspiring mountain views.

The two bedroom suites on the ground floor are large and offer king sized beds, sitting areas, fireplaces, work areas, and en-suite bathrooms. The ground floor bedroom wing overlooks the pool area.

Upstairs, two master bedroom suites feature his and hers en-suite bathrooms, outdoor covered balconies with fireplaces as well as king sized beds, sitting areas, and work areas. The upper floor also features a private massage room with fireplace and facilities for salon services. A large rooftop garden overlooks the golf course.

An additional apartment with kitchenette, living room, dining room, and bedroom and bathroom, is located over the garage.

Guests at Casa Elar enjoy private luxury as well as all facilities offered by the Ojai Valley Inn and Spa. Unlimited golf and tennis are right next door. Some spa services are standard and others are available by appointment only. Continental breakfast and afternoon tea or cocktails will be served on the property in a location of the guests' choice. Two golf lessons, two massages, a training session and a cooking lesson/ chef demonstration are provided to all guests. The Bentley-inspired golf cart and bicycles are provided for guests' use during their stay at Casa Elar. The small town of Ojai, located in the Ojai Valley, some 35 minutes from Santa Barbara, California, is well known as a haven for artists and health enthusiasts. Portrayed as "Shangri-La" in the 1939 movie, "The Lost Horizon", it is host to the internationally renowned Ojai Music Festival. Nearby Lake Casitas Recreation Area hosts the Ojai Wine Festival.
