Amidst the natural splendour, The farm at Cape Kidnappers, a Relais and Chateaux property - and the sister property of Kauri Cliffs - is nestled in Hawke's Bay on the beautiful east coast, and aside from its plentitude of amenities and attractions, this exquisite property is a favourite amongst golf devotees - the on-site course has been ranked the 27th best in the world. It is here where the sensational owner's cottage is located.
On the exterior, the property resembles a cluster of rustic farm buildings. Local materials are incorporated into graciously scaled rooms, full of natural light and unexpected treasures. Comfort, style, and ease are at a premium, with each room taking on a character of its own while harkening back to the rural feeling of a New Zealand sheep station and wine country. Your spacious cottage offers a breathtaking view, and opens to a large veranda overlooking the stunning Pacific panorama. Warm colours and tasteful furnishings ensure a memorable stay. The property features a full service luxury Spa, a well equipped fitness centre, a shared outdoor swimming pool and Jacuzzi, and a pool cabana. For your dining pleasure, the Farm at Cape Kidnappers offers two dining rooms, both featuring gourmet and a la carte dining; a combination of local and international fare, prepared by experienced Chefs.
The air-conditioned four bedroom Owner's Cottage features high speed wireless internet connection, remote flat screen LCD television, a DVD and CD player with iPod connection. The interior design of the owner's cottage is by the renowned Linda Bedell of Aspen, Colorado. The kitchen in your cottage features all major modern appliances. Your cottage also features its own private Jacuzzi.
Aside from the interiors of the Farm at Cape Kidnappers, guests have the option of partaking in myriad of wondrous outdoor on-site activities. There is, of course, championship golf, and in addition to this, there is hiking and the world famous Gannet Safari. Off-site activities include wine tours, fly fishing, hot air ballooning, an Art Deco tour, horseback riding, and river kayaking. The staff at the Lodge at Kauri Cliffs includes morning housecleaning, nightly turndown service, a farm Manager, Chefs, Housekeeper, Spa therapist, and a gardener. Please note that breakfast and dinner are included in the rates, and is served in the main dining room.
Getting to the Farm at Cape Kidnappers is quite simple. From Auckland, there are scheduled daily 55 minute flights to and from the nearest airport to the lodge - Napier. From Wellington, there are scheduled daily 50 minute flights to and from Napier. Also from Wellington, there is helicopter service, which takes approximately one and a half hours. Or, if you prefer to drive from Wellington to Napier, the approximate travel time is four hours.
