Amidst the natural splendour, The lodge at Kauri Cliffs, a Relais and Chateaux property, is set on 6,500 acres of a working sheep and cattle farm, overlooking New Zealand's stunning subtropical Northland. The location offers spectacular 180 degree views of the Pacific ocean. It's par 72 championship golf course is ranked 58th in the world. The Lodge at Kauri Cliffs is a large (4,200 square foot) two-suite house is positioned with the main lounge and two bedrooms overlooking the ocean and golf course towards the Bay of Islands. Elegantly furnished with tasteful pieces, the design also allows maximum light and space to be infused with the decor and design. The cottage has a private infinity swimming pool and hot tub, and easy access to all lodge amenities. There is an outdoor barbecue and cooking facilities for the chef if private in-house dining is preferred. There are open fireplaces in the bedrooms and the main lounge. There are two bathrooms and a powder room in the house. A small office can be converted into a third bedroom ideal for children or a nanny. Each of the suites offer a private porch, a spacious sitting area with a gas fireplace, large en-suite bathrooms, complimentary mini-bar and each offers King beds. The second suite can offer twin beds, upon request. There is satellite colour television in each suite, as well as DVD and CD player, and wireless internet access. There is a private covered area for outdoor dining, and as well an outdoor barbeque grill. The exquisite small kitchen in the cottage features all modern amenities, including coffee maker, dishwasher, and a microwave oven.
Aside from the splendid, luxurious interiors of the Lodge at Kauri Cliffs, guests have the option of partaking in myriad of wondrous outdoor on-site activities. There is, of course, championship golf nearby, and in addition to this, there is hiking, tennis, mountain biking. There is the fitness centre, where state-of-the-art equipment are on hand for your use. Off-site activities include the famous Ninety Mile Beach, Puketi Kauri Forest, Rainbow Falls, and a plethora of other natural wonders. The staff at the Lodge at Kauri Cliffs includes morning housecleaning, nightly turndown service, a Lodge Manager, Chefs, Housekeeper, Spa therapist, and a gardener. Please note that breakfast and dinner are included in the rates. Getting to Kauri Cliffs is quite simple; there are daily 45 minute flights to and from Auckland to the nearest airport to the lodge - Kerikeri. If you prefer to rent a car (highly recommended to take in the beauty of this enchanting destination, then it is a mere 4 hour drive from Auckland. There is also helicopter service offered between Auckland and Kauri Cliffs; the travel time is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.
