Description
Part of a 1700 acre estate, Villa Monticchia is a carefully restored Italian country home and tower. The villa is located in the Val d'Orcia region of Tuscany, between Rome and Florence. The villa is only a short distance from Montalcino, Cetona, Montepulciano and Casciano dei Bagni, an unspoiled medieval village. The villa offers lovely views of Mount Amiata and is part of the same estate that hosts Villa Aiola. Both properties may be rented together to accomodate larger groups.
The villa’s pool overlooks the lush trees, manicured gardens and extensive lawns that surround the villa. The pool deck is adorned with comfortable lounge chairs. Guests can also enjoy al fresco dining in the villa’s pergola or take a relaxing walk in the villa’s private woods.
Inside, wood beamed ceilings and original stone walls can be appreciated throughout the villa. A living room and separate dining room can be found on the ground floor. The villa’s fully equipped kitchen is nearby. This room features rustic furnishings that give the kitchen a country home feel.
The first floor has a T.V. and reading room with a day bed. There are three bedrooms on this floor as well. The master bedroom features a queen sized bed, hardwood flooring, a traditional Tuscan fireplace and en-suite bathroom. The two remaining queen bedrooms share a bathroom. The queen sized beds in the three bedrooms can be converted to two twin beds, if desired.
The villa’s three story Tower lies adjacent to the main villa. The ground floor of the tower features a roomy kitchen and living room with a fireplace. There are two bedrooms in the tower. These are located on the first and second floor and feature en-suite bathrooms. One of the bedrooms has a walk-in closet and the other has a study area.
The surrounding areas offer incredible history, cuisine and wineries and the village of Casciano dei Bagni has an old secret to share: an old Roman day spa.
*Please note that the villa can only be rented from July 03 to September 11.
