Description
This charming stone and brick, two-bedroom villa marks the southern border of the central piazza of Borgo Mora. A flourishing walnut tree shades the loggia on the ground floor. The ground floor hosts the entrance gallery and two bedrooms, both with double beds, and both with en-suite bathrooms. French doors cast warm amber light on the wooden beamed ceilings and terracotta floors, and open to the spacious enclosed garden.
The upper floor is dominated by the large sitting area with balcony overlooking the piazza and rolling Tuscan countryside. An ornamental stone fireplace, wooden beamed ceilings, and family antiques and photos, are blended with modern designer touches for comfort and luxury. The kitchen is fully equipped and the dining area is separate. The large slate granite table in the gardens is perfect for outdoor dining.
The common areas, available to Borgo Mora's guests, include the magnificent infinity edged pool, pool loggia, dressing rooms and pool bar. Informal poolside meal service and drinks can also be arranged, however, the management of Borgo Mora does request that guests not bring outside food or drink into the pool or other communal areas. Common areas also require appropriate attire in deference to the cultural and business requirements of the Borgo.
Other shared facilities include a suspended galleria workspace with wifi internet access and library that offers an assortment of books, magazines and periodicals. The warm and inviting billiard room is a perfect place to partake in indoor recreation or simply relax and enjoy a good chat. Impressive arches mark the entrance to the enoteca, where guests find themselves surrounded by walls lined with local Chianti wines and grappas. Private meals and wine tastings for small parties may be arranged in advance.
Guests at La Nocciolina may also choose to dine in the private restaurant and sample the exquisite pairing of Borgo Mora's olive oils with delicious Tuscan fare. Tours of the working frantolio and tastings of the award winning Borgo Mora olive oils can be also be arranged. The estate's state-of–the-art theatre may be reserved for private functions in advance, depending on availability.
Outdoors, guests may stroll among the olive groves and dry stone terraces or rest in the shade of a cool loggia. Numerous well marked paths traverse the Pratomagno slopes and snake through the surrounding forests of beech and chestnut trees. These footpaths and bridges provide access to the property's lovely river and waterfalls. It is also possible to arrange activities such as trekking, mountain biking, horseback adventures and fishing as well as access to the private game reserve.
Although guests might never want to leave Borgo Mora, the private village is also conveniently situated within close proximity of Chianti, Arezzo, shops, eateries and rail connections.
