Description
Perched on a country hilltop, overlooking beautiful views of fields, hills and vineyards, is The Cork Tree House. It is a five minute drive from the shops and restaurants of the medieval village of Grimaud, and only a fifteen minute drive from the beaches and night life of St. Tropez. Built in the Bastide style, this sparkling white house with grey shutters is indeed surrounded by cork trees. The decor is clean and simple, with warm wood accents, and the furnishings are comfortable and attractive. Behind the house is a large pool, four and a half feet deep, which is great for playing water games or for swimming laps. You might even enjoy a nap in the nearby cabana.
On the ground floor is an airy living room with stone floors, beam ceiling and a fireplace. It has comfortable couches, large windows, and french doors that open onto the terrace and colorful summer garden. The fully equipped kitchen has a large gas range, country sink and dining table. Guests can also dine outdoors on the covered terrace. Also on this floor is a half bathroom and a bedroom with two single beds, an en suite shower bathroom, and a television.
Up the open staircase from the entrance hall are three bedrooms. The master bedroom has two beds that can be configured as twins or a king sized bed. It has an en-suite bathroom with a shower and double sinks. The second and third bedrooms share a bathroom with a soaker tub. One has a double bed, the other two single beds. The fifth bedroom is in a separate studio, and has a bedroom with either twins or a king size bed, and an en suite bathroom with a shower. There is a sitting area that opens onto a terrace that offers the perfect place for a cocktail and game of cards under the trees.
