Description
Maison de Fontvieille is a charming and rustic air-conditioned four bedroom property located in a beautiful setting. The charming small town of Fontvieille, situated approximately ten kilometers to the west of Maussane-les-Alpilles, is famous for its windmill, immortalized by Alphonse Daudet in his collection of short stories, 'Lettres de mon Moulin'. The very pretty property is situated just on the outskirts of the town centre and a short walk from the local shops and restaurants. It is particularly well placed for visiting the many attractions of the area, including Arles, Les Baux de Provence, St. Remy de Provence and the Camargue. The accommodation is all on one level, and the interiors have been furnished with flair and taste by the interior designer owner. Stone tiled floors, original exposed ceiling beams and white painted walls serve as a backdrop to the antique doors, country antique pine furniture, wrought-iron lamps and provencal fabrics. The living and dining room has a large open fireplace, and is comfortably furnished with cream upholstered sofa and chairs. Large glass doors open to a terrace with pergola, furnished for dining outdoors. Just beyond the terrace is a very pretty mature garden with flower beds, trees and a private swimming pool measuring 10 meters by five meters. The country style kitchen is fitted with antique pine cupboards, a cozy breakfast area, modern appliances, and glass doors leading to the terrace. Some of the amenities at Maison de Fontvieille include color television, a DVD player, a stereo system, and central heating.
Each of the four bedrooms is comfortable and inviting. The Master bedroom is fitted with a double bed, a private en-suite bathroom, and French doors leading to the terrace. The second bedroom is fitted with a double bed, and also opens onto the terrace. The third bedroom is fitted with a double bed, and the fourth bedroom, also fitted with a double bed, opens onto the rear terrace. There are two separate shower rooms, and an additional half bathroom for the convenience of guests.
The staff at Maison de Fontvieille includes maid service offered three times per week. Additional staff, such as a chef or a babysitter, is available upon request and will be at additional charge. The property is a ten minute walk from the center of Fontvieille; Maussane is located ten kilometers away; Les Baux de Provence is eleven kilometers from the property, and Marseille Airport is an approximate one hour transfer.
