Description
This wonderful eight bedroom air-conditioned villa offers a complete retreat with total peace and quiet, far from any crowds, or indeed any other property at all, and is surrounded by 250 hectares of private land. Access to Mas du Domaine is via a three kilometer long road through woodland and fields, or by helicopter (there is a helipad at the property). Situated on a hillside, the views are superb over the surrounding countryside with the mountains in the background. The house is surrounded by a well maintained lawn and garden with olive trees, lavender and herbs, and a large private swimming pool (fifteen meters by six meters, and heated on request). Built of local stone with grey shutters, and recently beautifully restored throughout, the accommodation consists of a main house and a guest house on the other side of a central courtyard. In total, the villa offers 1,500 square meters of living space, with the light and spacious rooms opening to terraces on one side, and the courtyard on the other. The interiors are of an exceptionally high standard and decorated in subtle shades of beige and grey throughout, with polished cement floors, white 'distressed effect' ceiling beams, tadelakt bathrooms, and cream furnishings. Glass doors open up right along the front of the very large living room to a furnished terrace overlooking the garden and pool. Amenities that guests will enjoy whilst residing at Mas du Domaine include large satellite color television, a DVD player, a CD player, Wi-Fi, a ping pong table, and underfloor heating. The Main House features a large living room opening onto a spacious terrace, a dining room with a fireplace and large antique table, which seats twelve guests; this room also opens onto terrace on one side, and the courtyard on the other. Six steps up from the dining room is the exceptionally well equipped kitchen, which includes a large range oven, an open fire barbecue, a breakfast table, and doors leading to the courtyard. The villa also has a well stocked wine cellar.
Four of the eight bedrooms at Mas du Domaine are located in the main house. The master bedroom features a King size bed, a dressing room, and a private en-suite bathroom with a bathtub and separate shower. The second bedroom features twin beds (which may be converted into a double bed) and a private en-suite bathroom with a bathtub and a shower. The third and fourth bedrooms each feature twin beds (which may be converted into a double bed) and a private en-suite bathroom with a shower. The guest building at Mas du Domaine houses a living and dining room with a fireplace, and the remaining four bedrooms. Located on the first floor of this guest house are two bedrooms; each are fitted with twin beds (which may be converted into double beds) and a private en-suite bathroom with a shower. On the second level is the seventh bedroom, fitted with twin beds (which may be converted into a double bed) and a private en-suite bathroom with a shower. The eighth bedroom is a room for children, and is fitted with four single beds and a private en-suite bathroom with a bathtub and a shower.
Maid service is included at Mas du Domaine, and is offered twenty four hours per week. Additional maid service and the services of a cook are on request and will be at additional charge. The nearest village is Jouques, located seven kilometers away; the city of Aix en Provence is thirty two kilometers away. Vauvenargues is situated twenty three kilometers from the villa, and Aix en Provence is located thirty two kilometers from Mas du Domaine.
