Casa Playa

Casa Playa is without a doubt a most extraordinary and striking modern six bedroom vacation home which is situated next to Los Suenos with its beautiful Marina, sport fishing charters, five restaurants, and a beautiful and challenging golf course. The house is located inside a gated community which offers guests twenty four hour security. This unique edifice takes its rightful place as one of Costa Rica's most beautiful private homes; it is a vacation which is out of the ordinary in every way. Casa Playa can accommodate a total of fifteen guests if children are included in the traveling party. The beautiful surroundings of Casa Playa add more than a touch of the exotic. Without leaving the house, guests will see macaws flying by and sitting in the trees; gigantic iguanas sun themselves on the hill behind the house and on the roofs below it. Pisotes, which look like a monkey-cat-raccoons, come by for cookies and bananas in the afternoon. If you get up early and go for a walk up the road you will see monkeys playing in the trees. And throughout half of the year whales will come into the bay in front of the house. From the second floor swimming pool and espejo de agua (water mirror) which lap up to the glass of the master bedroom and living room, to the gigantic ocean and jungle view to the artistry of acclaimed Minimalist Architect Victor Canas, Casa Playa, as guests will soon discover, is not just a place to stay; it is to be experienced.

When you enter the house the first thing you hear is the un-fountain; one that flows down rather than up. The first thing guests will see when entering the house is a marvelous staircase that seems not to be there, and a hallway above that seems to float. The stairs and the passageway above are constructed entirely of glass. Before going up the stairs, guests will discover the well appointed media room with a large flat screen color television and enough lounging area for everyone. The house has a total of five flat screen color televisions, and you do not even have to get out of the pool to watch two of them. The intelligent system controls the music throughout the Casa Playa; guests just hook up their Ipod or laptop in the media room, and then control the music from the three touch screens upstairs. The blackout shades and privacy screens are on motors. All of the designer furnishings at Casa Playa have been carefully selected to ensure a perfect 'fit' with the architectural design concept of light, space, and tranquility. The huge kitchen flows into the dining room with a table for twelve guests, and then into the living room. The kitchen is gourmet and oversized and is fitted with all the major modern appliances, including a built-in espresso maker and wine fridge. The living area leads out to the private swimming pool and surrounding deck through large glass doors that are always open to let the gorgeous ocean breezes flow through.
