The Nelson Gay Villa will exceed all expectations. From the moment of arrival, the villa exudes style, elegance and abundant spaciousness. The property is situated on a half mile of pristine, white sandy beach and two acres of manicured landscaped gardens, lush tropical vegetation, and giant mature trees. Constructed entirely of coral stone in the grand Palladian manner, many original features have been retained, including the floors that were designed by Oliver Messel and 14 foot ceilings in the living room. The decor is luxurious, light and airy, and includes many antiques and works of art. One can lose the concept of time enjoying these surroundings. A beautiful mosaic tiled swimming pool has recently been added, and a large, safe swimming area immediately in front of the house is roped off with buoys and a reef perfect for snorkeling.
This Barbados Villa's formal twelve seated dining room table and a large mirror were designed by Oliver Messel. Accommodations at Nelson Gay Villa consist of five air-conditioned bedrooms, each with en-suite bathroom in the main house and a sixth air-conditioned bedroom, also with private bathroom, in the cottage. Two covered terraces have recently been added to the north and south wing bedrooms of the main house, which offer additional privacy for the calm and sultry evenings. The study offers reclining chairs, large screen television connected to satellite and DirecTV. The professional kitchen is equipped with a six-burner gas range, stainless steel refrigerator, freezers, smoke extractor and preparation table. The eighty-foot terrace overlooking the pool, garden and sea offers a stylishly furnished covered seating area, al fresco dining for twenty guests, and a smaller dining area for eight.
The Nelson Gay villa property is perfect for vacationing with children. The staff will serve early meals for children, as well. The staff of eight at this Caribbean Villa is nothing short of excellent. The Bajan chef, who is available six days per week, and an assistant, prepare all meals. Food and beverage shopping is provided, and there is daily maid and laundress service (including personal laundry). Staff is uniformed both for day and evening service. By special arrangement, further accommodation to sleep up to an additional four guests is available.
